About The Dress Locker
What is The Dress Locker?
The Dress Locker is a local dress rental boutique offering an affordable and convenient way to find a dress for formal events, special occasions, and last-minute dress needs.
Are the dresses new?
The Dress Locker offers new and gently used formal dresses that are cleaned and inspected before each fitting and rental. Because some dresses are pre-owned, some may show minor signs of previous wear. Customers can examine and try on their requested dresses during their private fitting before deciding whether to rent.
What is included in the dress rental experience?
The Dress Locker offers more than a dress rental. Customers receive a private fitting and the opportunity to try on clean, ready-to-wear formal dresses in a comfortable setting. During the appointment, we will provide the requested dresses, answer questions, and assist with the fitting process. Alterations and tailoring services are not provided, and an exact or perfect fit is not guaranteed.
Appointments & Booking
How much does it cost to book a fitting appointment?
A $20 appointment booking fee is required when scheduling your fitting appointment.
Why is there a $20 appointment booking fee?
The $20 appointment booking fee reserves your private fitting time, helps prevent no-shows, and allows us to prepare your requested dresses before your arrival, subject to availability.
Is the $20 appointment booking fee refundable?
No. The $20 appointment booking fee is nonrefundable and is separate from the dress rental price.
How much notice is required to book an appointment?
Appointments must be booked at least 72 hours, or three days, in advance.
How many dresses can I try on during my appointment?
You may request up to three dresses when booking. Dress requests are subject to availability and will be confirmed before your appointment.
How long is a fitting appointment?
Fitting appointments are 30 minutes.
What happens after I book an appointment?
After booking, you should receive a confirmation email containing your appointment information and details about the fitting location.
What happens if I arrive late to my appointment?
Arriving late may result in a shortened fitting appointment. To ensure every customer receives their scheduled time, appointments cannot be extended due to late arrival. Please arrive on time to receive your full fitting time.
Identification & Minors
Do I need to bring an ID to my appointment?
Yes. Customers who are 18 or older must present a valid photo ID at the fitting appointment for verification purposes.
Can someone under 18 book or rent a dress?
A customer under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present during the fitting appointment and rental process. The parent or legal guardian must present a valid photo ID, sign the required documents, and accept financial responsibility for the rental.
Payments and Pricing
When do I pay for my dress rental?
The $20 appointment booking fee is paid when you schedule your appointment. If you select a dress to rent, the separate rental payment is made during your fitting appointment.
How much does it cost to rent a dress?
Dress rentals range from $45 to $75 for a seven-day rental. The price of each dress is displayed on our website and is separate from the $20 appointment booking fee.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Payments are accepted by card and supported contactless payment methods. Cash and checks are not accepted.

Returns, Late Returns & Damage
Where do I return my dress?
You will receive the return location, date, time, and instructions during your fitting appointment.
What happens if I return my dress late?
Dresses must be returned by the agreed-upon return date and time. Late returns may result in additional charges. Please review our Return Policy and Rental Policy for complete information regarding late returns and customer responsibilities.
Do I need to clean the dress before returning it?
No. Please do not wash, dry-clean, steam, iron, repair, or otherwise treat the dress. Return it in its current condition, and The Dress Locker will handle the appropriate cleaning and care.
What happens if a dress is damaged during my rental?
Customers must follow The Dress Locker’s dress-care requirements throughout the rental period. Depending on the nature and extent of the damage, additional charges may apply. Please review our Rental Policy for complete information about damage, prohibited alterations or cleaning, and applicable charges.
Who must return the dress?
For renters 18 or older, the renter must personally return the dress and remain present during the inspection. For renters under 18, the parent or legal guardian who signed the rental documents and accepted financial responsibility must personally return the dress and remain present during the inspection. The minor renter is not required to be present.
What is the return inspection, and do I need to be present?
Every dress will be inspected at the time of return to document its condition and identify any damage, stains, missing items, prohibited alterations, or other concerns. The person responsible for returning the dress must remain present for the entire inspection. A return is not considered complete until The Dress Locker has personally received the dress from the renter—or the responsible parent or legal guardian for a minor renter—and the return inspection has been completed. Dresses may not be left unattended or dropped off without completing the inspection.
