Rental Policy

Last Updated: August 19, 2026

This Rental Policy applies to dresses rented from The Dress Locker LLC (“The Dress Locker”). By completing a dress rental, the individual responsible for the rental agrees to comply with this policy and The Dress Locker’s Dress Care and Acknowledgment Agreement provided at the time of rental.

Rental Period

Dress rentals are for a seven-day rental period. Rental extensions are not available.

The customer's exact return date and designated return time will be provided at the time of rental and recorded on The Dress Locker’s Dress Care and Acknowledgment Agreement.

The customer is responsible for returning the dress by the stated deadline.

Rental Payment

The full rental price and any applicable taxes or other disclosed charges are due before the dress is released to the customer.

The $20 appointment booking fee is separate from the dress rental price and is not credited toward the rental.

Identification and Rental Agreement

Before a dress is released, the individual responsible for the rental must present a valid photo ID and review and sign The Dress Locker’s Dress Care and Acknowledgment Agreement.

For a customer under 18, a parent or legal guardian must be present, provide their valid photo ID, assume responsibility for the rental, and sign The Dress Locker’s Dress Care and Acknowledgment Agreement.

Dress Care

Customers are responsible for taking reasonable care of rented dresses throughout the rental period.

Unless expressly authorized by The Dress Locker, customers may not:

  • Wash or dry-clean a rented dress.

  • Attempt to remove stains using cleaning products or treatments.

  • Permanently alter, cut, dye, or otherwise modify a dress.

  • Attempt repairs without permission from The Dress Locker.

  • Transfer, lend, or sub-rent a dress to another person.

  • Iron, steam, or otherwise apply heat to a rented dress.

If a dress becomes stained or damaged, please contact The Dress Locker rather than attempting to clean or repair it.

Damage

The customer is responsible for damage occurring while the dress is in their possession beyond reasonable wear associated with proper use.

The Dress Locker will assess the condition of returned dresses and determine whether cleaning, repair, or replacement is reasonably necessary.

Any applicable damage or replacement charges will depend on the nature and extent of the damage and the terms agreed to in The Dress Locker’s Dress Care and Acknowledgment Agreement.

Late Returns and Unreturned Dresses

A late-return fee of $10 per calendar day, per dress, applies when a dress is not returned by its required return deadline.

A customer who misses the scheduled return window must follow the next return instructions provided by The Dress Locker. The Dress Locker is not required to arrange or pay for a separate meeting or venue reservation to accept a late return.

Contacting The Dress Locker does not automatically waive or stop the late fee. Any exception must be confirmed by The Dress Locker in writing.

A dress returned within seven calendar days after its original return date is subject to the accumulated late fees but not the dress’s replacement-value charge.

A dress that is not returned by the end of the designated return window occurring seven calendar days after its original required return date will be considered unreturned. The customer may then be charged the disclosed replacement value stated in the signed Dress Care & Acknowledgment Agreement.

Late fees already paid or owed will be credited toward the replacement value. Combined late-return and replacement charges will not exceed the disclosed replacement value of the unreturned dress.

Card-on-File Requirement

Before a dress is released, a renter age 18 or older must provide an authorized payment card and sign the Card-on-File Authorization Form.

For a customer under 18, the parent or legal guardian responsible for the rental must provide the authorized payment card and sign the Card-on-File Authorization Form.

In accordance with the signed authorization, the card may be charged for permitted and documented amounts, including applicable charges for late returns, loss, missing items, damage beyond reasonable wear, or failure to return a rented dress.

Lost or Unreturned Dresses

The customer is responsible for the rented dress until it has been returned to and received by The Dress Locker.

A dress that is lost, stolen, not returned, or damaged beyond reasonable repair may result in the responsible renter being charged the disclosed replacement value stated in the signed Dress Care & Acknowledgment Agreement.

Rental Availability

Customers may rent a maximum of two dresses per appointment. This limit applies regardless of whether the dresses are paid for together or through separate transactions. To rent an additional dress, the customer must book and attend a new appointment on a future available appointment date and pay a new $20 booking fee.

Customers may request up to three dresses to try on during an appointment. Dress selections are requests only, and availability is not guaranteed.

If a requested dress becomes unavailable or is found to be unsuitable for rental because of damage, condition, or another unexpected issue, The Dress Locker will contact the customer as soon as reasonably possible before the appointment. The customer will then have the opportunity to select another available dress before the appointment to try on during the appointment.

Ownership of Rental Dresses

All dresses rented from The Dress Locker remain the property of The Dress Locker at all times unless otherwise expressly stated in writing. A rental does not constitute a sale or transfer of ownership.

Customers may not keep, sell, transfer, give away, or otherwise claim ownership of a rented dress. All rented dresses must be returned to The Dress Locker by the specified return date and time.
