Return Policy
Last Updated: August 19, 2026
All dress rentals are subject to a seven-day rental period. Each dress must be returned on the same day of the week on which it was picked up, during the designated return window, and at the return location provided by The Dress Locker.
Returns for Renters 18 or Older
If the renter is 18 years of age or older, the renter must personally return the dress to The Dress Locker in person. Another individual may not return the dress on the renter’s behalf.
The renter must remain present while The Dress Locker inspects the dress and any included accessories.
Returns for Renters Under 18
If the renter is under 18 years of age, the parent or legal guardian who signed The Dress Locker’s Dress Care and Acknowledgment Agreement and accepted financial responsibility for the rental must personally return the dress.
The parent or legal guardian must remain present while The Dress Locker inspects the dress and any included accessories. The minor renter is not required to be present during the return or inspection.
Another individual who is not the responsible parent or legal guardian may not return the dress on the renter’s behalf.
Unattended Returns
Dresses may not be left outside, unattended, at the studio door, or with another person. A return is not considered complete until the dress has been personally received and inspected by The Dress Locker.
Customer Responsibility
Customers are responsible for returning the dress on time during the designated return window, regardless of whether a return reminder is received.
If you anticipate difficulty returning the dress as scheduled, contact The Dress Locker at aiyana@thedresslocker.com as soon as possible. Contacting The Dress Locker does not extend the rental period or waive any applicable fees.
Dress Care and Condition
The dress and all included accessories must be returned in the condition in which they were provided, except for reasonable wear resulting from proper use.
Unless expressly authorized by The Dress Locker, customers must not wash, dry-clean, iron, steam, alter, repair, or apply stain-removal products to any rented item.
Return Inspection
The dress and any included accessories will be inspected at the time of return.
For renters who are 18 years of age or older, the renter must remain present throughout the inspection.
For renters under 18 years of age, the parent or legal guardian who signed The Dress Locker’s Dress Care and Acknowledgment Agreement and accepted financial responsibility must remain present throughout the inspection. The minor renter is not required to be present.
Identity Verification
Customers are not routinely required to present identification when returning a dress. However, The Dress Locker reserves the right to request valid photo identification when necessary to verify the identity of the person returning the dress.
Damage, Loss, and Additional Charges
Customers may be responsible for charges resulting from late return, loss, missing accessories, permanent stains, excessive damage, unauthorized alterations or cleaning, or damage beyond reasonable wear.
Additional terms and applicable charges will be disclosed in The Dress Locker’s Dress Care and Acknowledgment Agreement signed at the fitting.
Rental Extensions
Rental extensions are not available. All rented items must be returned on the designated return date and during the designated return window.
Missed Return Window
If a customer misses the required return window, a late-return fee of $10 per calendar day, per dress, will apply.
The customer must follow the next return instructions provided by The Dress Locker. The Dress Locker is not required to arrange or pay for a separate meeting or venue reservation because a customer missed the required return window.
Contacting The Dress Locker does not automatically waive or stop the late fee. Any exception must be provided by The Dress Locker in writing.
The dress must be returned no later than the end of the designated return window occurring seven calendar days after the original required return date. If it is not returned by that deadline, it will be considered unreturned and may be subject to the disclosed replacement-value charge stated in the signed Dress Care & Acknowledgment Agreement.
Late fees already paid or owed will be credited toward the replacement value of the unreturned dress.
